Ms. Tan, who lives in an HDB flat in Sengkang, Singapore, is a mother of a 2-year-old baby and a full-time work-from-home designer. Over the past year, she has replaced 3 water dispensers of different brands, but never found one that fully meets her needs. Until she bought the Bewinch G3 Hill ultra-thin water dispenser 30 days ago, she finally solved the drinking water problems of the whole family. The following is her real user experience sharing.
1. Previous Bad Experiences: 3 Water Dispensers Failed to Meet Needs
Ms. Tan said that the first one she used was a traditional bottled water dispenser, which was bulky and took up space next to the sideboard. She had to carry the heavy bottled water upstairs by herself, which was very inconvenient for women; moreover, the bottle interface was prone to bacteria growth, so she always felt worried about making baby formula with it, and replaced it after half a year.
The second one was a countertop water dispenser from a popular brand. She chose it because of its installation-free feature, but there were many problems in actual use: the body was very thick, and her sideboard was only 38cm deep. The machine protruded a lot after being placed, leaving no space for cups; the water temperature was inaccurate, the actual temperature was higher than the set 45℃ for formula making, she had to wait for it to cool down every time, which was very troublesome for making formula at midnight; moreover, after two months of use, the water had a slight plastic smell, making her uneasy about giving it to the baby.
The third one was a cheap entry-level model. She thought it would be okay for temporary use, but the filtration effect was very poor. The chlorine smell of tap water could not be filtered out at all. The baby did not like drinking water, and the tea she made also tasted bad. It was left unused soon after. "I spent a lot of money back and forth, but never found a suitable one. I originally wanted to give up countertop models and install a built-in one, but my house is a renovated HDB flat. Drilling holes and modifying pipelines is too troublesome, and as PR owners, we don't want to make major renovations to the decoration." Ms. Tan said.
2. Why Did She Finally Keep G3 Hill?
"I first saw it in a local home blogger's sharing. I was attracted by its ultra-thin body at first glance, which could just fit into my narrow sideboard. I ordered it with a try mentality, and it turned out to exceed my expectations." Ms. Tan summarized several most satisfying points:
First, the size fits perfectly. The body is very thin, and it is just flush when placed on the 38cm deep sideboard, without protruding from the cabinet. There is still space on top for cups and tea sets, saving a lot of counter space; the matte milky white appearance matches my log-style home decoration very well. Friends who come to my house all ask for the purchase link. It does not have the strong industrial sense like previous machines.
Second, the water quality and temperature control are very satisfactory. The water filtered by RO has no chlorine smell and tastes sweet. The baby now takes the initiative to drink water; the 45℃ constant temperature gear is very accurate, you can directly get water for making milk powder without mixing hot and cold water repeatedly, which saves a lot of time when making formula at midnight. The boiling water gear is also very convenient for making scented tea and cooking instant noodles on weekdays.
Third, use and maintenance are very simple. It is plug-and-play without installation. A full water tank is enough for a family of three to use for one day; filter replacement is particularly convenient, just open the front cover and pull it out directly. I can replace it by myself without calling a technician. I checked the filter price and it is within budget, so the long-term use cost is not high.
3. Minor Shortcomings and Overall Evaluation
Ms. Tan also mentioned a small regret: there is no cooling function. Singapore has hot weather, and if you want to drink ice water, you have to take the water out and put it in the refrigerator. It would be more perfect if there was an ice water gear. However, she also said that her core needs are baby formula making and whole family direct drinking, both of which G3 Hill does very well, so she is very satisfied overall.
"For ordinary families living in HDB flats, this model is really very suitable. No drilling required, no space occupation, good filtration effect, and high appearance value. I recommend it to moms who also have babies and narrow sideboards at home, so you don't have to try so many wrong products like me." Ms. Tan finally suggested.
