Is a Water Purifier Worth It in Singapore? Long-Term Cost Comparison of Bewinch G3, G5, G7 and N9 Series

Singapore tap water is potable, so a water purifier is not essential for every household.
If you are rarely at home, drink only room-temperature water and already use a kettle or filter jug comfortably, a purifier may not be necessary. However, if your household regularly prepares tea, coffee, warm drinks or uses different water temperatures throughout the day, a purifier-dispenser can make daily routines much easier.
The right question is not simply, “How much does the machine cost?” It is, “Will this appliance be used often enough to justify its purchase and ongoing maintenance?”
Bewinch G3 is a practical starting point for renters, HDB residents, compact kitchens and smaller households. Its estimated annual filter cost is US$79–117, or around US$0.22–0.32 per day.
G3 is worthwhile for users who regularly drink hot water, make tea or prepare coffee and want installation-free convenience. Its main trade-off is manual refilling.
Bewinch G5 is designed for more frequent shared household use. Its estimated annual filter cost is US$135–186, or around US$0.37–0.51 per day. The higher cost comes mainly from Filters 1 and 3, which have a shorter estimated replacement cycle of 6–8 months.
G5 is most worthwhile when several family members use the appliance every day. If only one person uses it occasionally, G3 may offer better value.
Bewinch G7 has estimated annual filter costs of US$200–276. It is suitable for users who want a higher-specification household drinking experience and are prepared for the related maintenance cost.
Bewinch N9 Pro, N9s and N9Max have estimated annual filter costs of US$195–293. These models are more suitable for premium home water bars, tea rooms, hospitality spaces and design-led interiors.
A water purifier should not be marketed as something every Singapore household needs for basic safety. Its real value is convenience: easier drinking routines, temperature flexibility, tea and coffee preparation, and a dedicated water point for the home.
Choose G3 for lower long-term cost and flexible installation. Choose G5 for frequent family sharing. Choose G7 for higher household specifications. Choose the N9 series when drinking, hosting and interior experience are all part of the decision.
